There are many ways you can help the Foundation grow and be able to do more for others.
HELP THE KATIA SOLOMON FOUNDATION CONTINUE TO HELP OTHERS
A HUGE way you can help? If you aren't a registered marrow donor, become one and tell your friends and family how they too can join the registry. That is the biggest chance of a cure for many patients fighting blood related illnesses. You could save someone's life. Donating blood and platelets and other blood products saves many lives too. Please talk to your local blood bank about different options.
If you register as a marrow donor after visiting the Foundation's Website, please send us an email or letter to let us know as we enjoy hearing from you.
We believe education is the key to bringing conciousness to so many who do not understand how they too can possibly save lives by simply being part of a registry that offers the potential of life to so many who desperately await a miracle match. Our efforts are focused, very strongly, in the hispanic community where resources are few and limited.
Another way is by sharing resources. It is our hope that by networking within the community, we can come up with solutions for many of these families' problems. The more people who know what is needed, the more help that will come forward to accomplish our missions as stated in the Mission Statement.
**Currently we are in need of raising funds that will allow us to directly help families who struggle with finances due to life threatening, blood related illnesses. By KSF paying a bill such as a mortgage payment, a car payment, an electric bill, or another pressing bill, a family can spend more time concentrating on what they need to, getting their loved one healthy and home. Bills continue no matter what a family's given situation. Many families find that both parents cannot continue to work and as their finances dwindle, their cost of living increases due to added medical bills, cost of gas, food, etc.
Together, let's "Share Hope on the Wings of Ladybug."
Educational Materials
One of the ways the Katia Solomon Foundation has been able to raise funds was through the help of a local restaurant which allowed us to place a "change bucket" and informational brochures for their customers.
No one should ever have to wait for their lifesaving match.

Blood is a critical need for many people fighting life threatening situations. Car accidents, burn victims, cancer patients, surgical patients, etc. are in need of blood at many given times.
They rely on donors, like you, to keep the blood supply up to date.
